I’ll admit, I was the first to complain when I realized the modern Polly Pocket reboot wasn’t what I thought it would be. Little did I know I would end up collecting them!
Though I can’t help but be biased towards the vintage ones, the new Polly Pockets have their own charm. After all, I did make the decision to collect them.
The Tiny Pocket World line are certainly adorable. They’re little compacts with keyrings that attach like a keychain. They look so good displayed with the rest of my collection!
I do love the Pollystick technology they applied to these rebooted Pollies. There’s something satisfying about sticking the dolls on these compacts.
The three shinier and bigger keychains are a bit of a mystery to me. They look vastly different than the rest of Tiny Pocket World, yet follow the same concept.
I would say those look and feel more like the vintage Polly Pockets. They’re shinier and have a stronger hinge. I wonder what Mattel’s thought process was behind these? And are there more?
Since people have asked me in the past if they should collect them, I’m going to answer right now: YES!
Firstly, you should collect whatever makes you happy regardless of my review. Second, I’m biased towards the vintage ones because they’re from my childhood but the modern ones are cute too.
They’re getting harder to find as time passes by so go for it!
